A cozy little farm where neighbors matter as much as the harvest.
What Good Soil is
Good Soil is a relaxed pixel-art farming game. You clear a small field, plant crops, raise a few animals, build up your homestead, and watch the seasons turn. There is no timer chasing you and no way to lose. It is meant to feel like a slow afternoon, not a race.
Underneath the farming, the game has a Christian heart. Neighbors show up needing a hand, and helping them is its own reward. Sometimes a verse follows a kind act, offered gently, never as a condition for playing. There is a Sabbath rhythm built into the week, a season of gleaning where what is left in the field is left on purpose, and a quiet thread of “other seed fell into the good soil” running through the whole thing.
Who it’s for
Families, kids, and anyone who likes a gentle game to unwind with. You do not need to share the faith behind it to enjoy tending a field and helping a neighbor. The farming stands on its own. The Christian threads are there for anyone who wants to notice them, and easy to simply enjoy as a kind story if you don’t.
How we build it
- No guilt mechanics.Nothing nags you back in, decays while you’re away in a punishing way, or makes you feel bad for putting the game down.
- No manipulative monetization. Whatever is offered for sale is offered plainly, at a fair price, never dressed up as a donation and never gated behind pressure tactics.
- Gentle play. You can put the game down for a week and come back to a farm that is glad to see you, not one that punished you for leaving.
- A share to charity. A portion of what the company earns across all of its work goes to charitable causes. That giving happens at the company level. It is simply how we try to run things, not a claim about any individual purchase.
